Repair the Appearance, Health and Function of Your Smile with Dental Implants
Dental implants continue to be one of the best of the many ways to replace the teeth in the smile! The placement and restoration of dental implants allow patients to address one or more missing teeth and repair the smile’s appearance, health, and function. Drs. Roodsar, Gholizadeh, and Rezaei of North York, Ontario, can help patients determine if the dental implant is appropriate for them.
What is a dental implant?
Our dentists describe the dental implant as a screw-like post of titanium that replaces the missing tooth’s root. During a surgical procedure, the implant is placed into the bone of the jaw. That is done with local anesthesia and sedation for patient comfort. After a period of healing, the implant is firmly in place. It can be restored with an implant restoration, including a crown, bridge, or even a complete denture to replace one, several, or all the teeth.

Tooth replacement options for dental implants
- Replace an individual tooth – if you have a single tooth missing, a single tooth implant is placed and restored over the top with a dental crown. The dental crown is made to look like the existing teeth to blend in with the smile and look as natural as possible.
- Replace several teeth – in some instances, mini dental implants may be placed on each side of a missing tooth or teeth to hold up a dental bridge. That is often done when patients have multiple teeth in a row that are missing.
- Replace all the teeth – full mouth dental implants use several mini dental implants along the dental arch to hold a full conservative denture in place. That provides the ultimate stability for patients who might not want to deal with traditional full dentures and seek better support and functionality.
