Orthodontic treatments available at Respond Dental
A beautiful, straight, and brilliant smile can boost a patient’s self-confidence and positively impact their professional and social opportunities. Patients who do not have a straight smile and experience gaps or misalignment may feel there is nothing else they can do outside of traditional metal brackets and wire braces. Fortunately, there are several options available for both children and adults to enjoy teeth straightening. Many types of braces allow patients to choose the most appropriate treatment for their desires, budget, and lifestyle. At Respond Dental in North York, Ontario, we work with both children and adults in helping them achieve beautiful smiles!
What types of braces are available?
Straightening the teeth can be done in various ways:
- Metal braces – metal braces are the more traditional treatment used to realign moderate to severe cases of misalignment. They use brackets and wires that are attached to the teeth and gently reposition the smile.
- Ceramic, clear braces – ceramic braces blend in more with the smile as they are tooth-coloured, allowing patients to straighten teeth without significantly noticeable appliances.
- Lingual braces – instead of placing brackets on the front of the teeth, some patients may prefer to have them placed behind the teeth, so they are not noticeable when speaking or smiling with others. The brackets are placed on the back of the dental arch for discreet realignment.
- Clear aligners – alternatively, invisible teeth aligners or trays are used to reposition the teeth without gluing brackets or wires onto the smile. These removable trays allow patients to look great and feel confident while improving the alignment of their teeth. They are discreet and easy to use for both children and adults.
